Myths and Legends: Heracles and Eurystheus

The vase painting shows the moment when Heracles has returned to King Eurystheus who is completely terrified of the Erymanthian Boar and attempts to hide himself. Eurystheus begs Heracles to get rid of the fierce beast, and Heracles does so by casting the boar into the sea.
