Myths and Legends: The Labyrinth

This marvelous image shows the labyrinth that Daedalus built for King Minos of Crete to imprison the Minotaur, the monstrous half-man half-bull. The sun shining above is ominous, too, since when Daedalus and his son Icarus finally escape from Crete using wings of wax and feathers, the sun will melt poor Icarus' wings.
